Sweet Baby Jade is a green-when-ripe cherry tomato developed through a collaboration between Karen Olivier of Canada and Teresa Smith of North Carolina. The two connected through a shared love of growing, and Teresa selected this variety from one of Karen’s crosses as part of her Short and Sweet dwarf tomato breeding project.

Sweet Baby Jade has a bushy habit with dark green potato-leaf foliage. The green cherry tomatoes develop a slight amber hue when fully ripe and are notably sweet.

Growth Characteristics

Sweet Baby Jade grows to approximately 2.5–3 feet tall in good conditions and is very productive. It is a semi-determinate genetic dwarf, and minimal pruning is recommended for maximum production. Suitable for garden beds and containers.

Fruit Description

Produces green cherry tomatoes that take on a slightly amber tone when fully ripe.

Flavor Profile

Very sweet.

Sweet Baby Jade is recommended for garden beds and containers and can be used fresh in salads and mixed cherry baskets.
