Kenneth's Piennolo is a true breeding Piennolo-Del-Vesuvio type of tomato selected by Kenneth Nilsson, a former collaborator of our Principal Breeder, Fred Hempel. A small-fruited variety produced on indeterminate potato-leaf plants. Sweet with great depth of flavor, and with firmness and long shelf-life. Fruit produced approximately 65 days after transplant. Plants can be spindly/wispy but are deceptively productive. However, the variety does not perform well in extreme heat. The variety can be eaten fresh or cooked and is great in salads and in pasta dishes.
